Eivissa square has always been a Horta neighborhood and surroundings neuralgic center, hosting activities such as fairs and meetings, and currently is a pedestrian and promenade area. With our proposal we liked to preserve its “everyday” character: To achieve a clean and uniform urban space by reducing road traffic and emphasizing its original character. So, the project key was focused on minimizing the car traffic and reviewing the pedestrian paths intensities to get the master lines of the project. Blue paths join the main and more interesting points, making them easily recognizable (such as underground entrance). We used water, as an essential element in Horta’s history, to solve the program using a sheet of water (above which lies the eivissenca sculpture) and a fountain. Always considering and analyzing carefully the existing commercial usages.
